It’s probably winter wherever you are so this may not be particularly useful right now, but if you wear the right shorts you can seriously make your legs look considerably longer.
I personally tend to stay as far away as possible from shorts that lie on the hip, but if there are shorts that you simply are too in love with and want to wear, I recommend wearing them with either loose fitting tops or tops that aren’t tucked in. If you tuck your skin-tight t-shirt or body into shorts that lie on the hip it’ll only bring attention to your torso and may even make it look longer.
For people with long torsos and short legs, anything high-waisted (particularly very high-waisted) is a dream. It brings attention to your waist, and gives off the illusion that your waist is higher up - therefore the illusion that your torso is shorter and your legs longer. However, when shopping around there are certain high-waisted shorts I recommend avoiding at all costs.
There is nothing worse than seeing a girl with her arse cheeks hanging out of her shorts. It’s not a good look. At all. You can avoid this look by avoiding shorts with a diagonal cut on the bum (as seen above). You want to look for shorts with a straight cut on the bottom - 90% of the time it means they’ll actually cover your bum and hide you from embarrassment.
No. Just no. Don’t go there. Ever.
It may sound like a bit of a hassle but it’s actually pretty useful to invest in a plastic or cloth tape measure and measure your leg length to how long you want your shorts to be - it’ll make shopping on eBay a hell of a lot easier. (Leg length is measured from the start of the inner leg (see above photo))
So this is me with my head chopped off. Usually my legs look a lot chubbier and shorter (will have to take a photo to compare) but the high-waisted shorts have made them look longer (obviously you don’t have to have the shorts as high as mine!)
Hope it helped!
